THE MUSEUM

Located in Guebwiller, the Théodore Deck Museum houses the largest public collection of faience works signed by Théodore Deck, with more than 500 pieces on display.

THE ARTIST

A French ceramist born in 1823 in Guebwiller, Théodore Deck devoted his life to mastering his art: faience.

Flowerpots, dishes, vases, and wall frescoes served as the canvas for his imaginary journey through the dreamed Orient of the 19th century.

His obsession with color led him to the discovery of a unique turquoise blue: the “Deck Blue,” which brought him international renown.
